Wilson fifth grade students, under the direction of Mr. Norkus, performed the National Anthem at a recent Somerset Patriot's Game. Thank you to the teachers,families, and alum who came out to support them.

Students in Mrs. Stanzel's class learned about the structure and significance of the skeletal system through an owl pellet dissection.
Wilson fifth grade students spent a day (and into the night) at Fairview Lake. They spent the day taking part in team-building and problem-solving activities that allowed them to connect with each other and the world around them.



Wilson students, staff, and families observed the solar eclipse, also known as the Great North American Eclipse. Thank you to our PTO for purchasing glasses to enable our school community to take part in this special celestial event.

The April 16 budget vote and board election is fast approaching. Please consider attending one of the district's last two community engagement sessions to have your questions answered before going to the polls. The virtual sessions are Wednesday, April 10 from 12-1 p.m. and Thursday, April 11 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Links to both sessions can be found on the Budget Vote Portal under Community Engagement.

Students in Mrs. Stanzel's class fostered kindness through their "Lucky Letters" activity. Each day, a random student was chosen, and everyone in the class wrote a heartfelt letters to that person. It was a wonderful way to see the positivity and kind words flow through their classroom.

Wilson's first and second grade students had an assembly with members of the Union County Bureau of Recycling & Planning. They learned what can be recycled and practiced sorting items into appropriate bins. Then they received their Recycling Ranger badges for pledging to recycle at both home and school.
Our student-led Book Club meets on Mondays. They are currently exploring the text The Wild Robot. Students plan the activities with our librarian, Mrs. Ciampa, as their advisor. There is still time to join!




On the final day of our PTO's STEAM after school program, students baked cookies, did Lego challenges, and made dream catchers to name a few.






Wilson students, staff, and parent volunteers worked collaboratively with the organization Rise Against Hunger for this year's Community Service Week project. They did a presentation about their work and reminded our school community that changing lives starts with one meal. Our goal was 15,000 meals. By the end of the day, we surpassed that and packed over 20,000 meals!

Fifth grade students in Mr. Schmidt's class shared their favorite books from first grade with their buddies in Mrs. Morris' class. This was just one example of students working together to help inspire a love of reading during Read Across America Week.







Wilson staff came together for an afternoon of professional development. During the session they reflected on the work they have done this year on Tier 1 strategies and MTSS. Then they set goals for the remainder of the year.
