Our third grade students deepened their understanding of how immigration has influenced our country and how people from diverse cultures have contributed to the development of an American culture during their trip to the Statue of Liberty.

Wilson's first graders went to see a musical based on the book Ada Twist Scientist. It highlighted STEM curriculum, while touching on themes of collaboration, friendship, and resilience.


May 13-17 is Allergy Awareness week. Our first graders had a lesson from a Wilson alum about how to support friends with food allergies using the book The Princess and the Peanut Allergy by Wendy McClure.



Wilson students, families, and staff came out to sample cuisine and make crafts while learning about different countries during our annual Multicultural Festival. Thank you to the families who volunteered their time and talent.
Wilson fourth and fifth grade orchestra students put on a wonderful performance for their peers, under the direction of Mrs. Robin Naylor.






Students in Mr. Samarco's class explored the different Moon phases that appear throughout a month. Then they created books to help them discover patterns in how the Moon’s shape changes and predict when the next full moon will appear.


Wilson's first graders extended their learning about the characteristics of reptiles and compared different reptile groups during an assembly from Jenkinson's Aquarium.
Wilson's fourth grade band performed for their peers under the direction of Mrs. Webber.

The Board held its reorganization meeting last night. Following the swearing in of Leila Morrelli, Sonal Patel, and Julie Steinberg, Board members elected Robert Benacchio as Board President and Sonal Patel as Board Vice President. Congratulations to all!

Wilson's crossing guards were honored by Mayor Brindle and the town. We are thankful for all that they do to keep our students and families safe. A special honor went to our crossing guard, Paul, who will be dearly missed by our school community.


Wilson's fifth graders had an assembly with members of Westfield High School's No Place for Hate group. They do this elementary outreach to introduce the students to the program before they have the opportunity to join in middle school. The goal is to spread positivity and anti-hate discourse within the Westfield community.
Chairwoman Kimberly Palmieri-Mouded stopped by to deliver the book, "Just Ask," as part of the Union County Board of County Commissioner's Inclusive Book Program.
Wilson first graders brainstormed ways they could take care of the environment. They also constructed bird feeders from a variety of recycled household items. They have observed birds already visiting many of the feeders.
