First grade students are creating mixed media paintings of a dinosaur, inspired by American artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Ms. Graziano's first graders read The Three Little Pigs and The True Story of The Three Little Pigs during their fairy tale unit. Then they did a traveling Reader's Theatre performance that incorporated these well known characters.

Wilson kicked off its holiday concert season with a performance by our intermediate and advanced orchestra under the direction of Mrs. Naylor. They will perform for their families at 7PM on Monday at RIS.

We held our first fifth grade community service event. The students did an outstanding job making over 180 sandwiches to donate as part of our school-wide Two Lunch Thursday program. A big thank you to Tracy Sisto and Kate Cuccaro for organizing the event and securing donations.

Fourth grade students met with Dr. Cohen and his colleague Chris Anderson from Rutgers University to share their progress and ask questions about their hydroponically grown lettuce.

Wilson third graders had an assembly with MaryAnne Francisco, President of the Sparta Historical Society. They learned about the life of the Lenape at different stations. Then observed and interacted with artifacts. Thank you Mr. Borchin for organizing this wonderful experience!

Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving!

The creativity of Wilson students and families was on display during our annual Pumpkin Fair. Thank you to the PTO volunteers who helped organize this wonderful event.

Students in Ms. O'Neill's class are learning about hydroponics. Thy used soda bottles to plant lettuce without soil. This week they continued to make observations in their journals on how these plants are growing and they have been excited to see some that are really starting to get very leafy.

Students in Mrs. Schreier's class used words and pictures to complete their heart maps. This was the first step in brainstorming ideas for their personal narratives.

Mrs. Ciampa read the book "The World Needs Who You Were Made to Be" to her classes. This story emphasized our school's message about respect and celebrating differences. Each student then decorated their own hot air balloon, like the characters in the story. Now our gym is filled with beautiful designs, each as unique as our students.

We can't wait for our fall theater productions! Mark your calendars!
