
Students in Mrs. Sapuppo's class learned about our first president, George Washington, while immersing themselves in non-fiction texts and their features.





Wilson students, families, and alum came out to the PTO's second Game Night of the year. Smiles were plentiful throughout the evening. Thank you to the parents and teachers who volunteered their time.











As Wilson third grade students explore the regions of the United States, they are participating in the Great Postcard Race. They are working to receive postcards from each state. They are getting close to their goal. Do you know anyone in Arkansas, Tennessee, Louisiana, or Missouri?

Wilson fourth graders took a trip to the Westfield Memorial Library to visit the African American History of Westfield Pop-Up Museum. There they learned about Westfield's connections to the Harlem Renaissance and the history of the Brightwood Park neighborhood, amongst many other things.

Buddies from Mrs. Venturino and Mrs. Sapuppo's classes came together to learn about Lunar New Year and paint positive messages for the new year.






Here are some of our fourth grade students holding and observing their mealworms in preparation for their investigations next where whey they will explore variables such as which scents they prefer.








Valentine's Day was a busy day at Wilson. Students made crafts and participated in a variety of games and activities. Thank you to the class parents who facilitated the celebrations.





In honor of our 100th day of school, our first grade students reflected on what they would do when they are one hundred and played a partner math game where the goal was to add and subtract their way to one hundred.

Mrs. Morris' students worked in groups to research different types of penguins and then did a Reader's Theater performance of Tacky the Penguin, a story that reinforces being true to oneself.


Wilson students and families came out for our PTO's Skate Night. We are a community on and off the ice.

Some of our first and second grade writers celebrated their completed pieces during a publishing party.

Our Wilson Warriors Recess Building Club had their first meeting of the winter session.

Students in Mrs. Venturino's class worked together to determine the relative concentrations of liquids.

We had a great turnout for our first Wilson Family Game Night of the year. The true prize of the evening was time together with family and friends. Thank you to the volunteers who organized it.


Third grade students are learning new chords on their ukuleles in music with Mr. Norkus.

Students in Mrs. Greczek's fifth grade class played "Decimal Top-it" to reinforce the skill of comparing decimals.




Students in Mrs. Morris' first grade class played "Fishing for 10" to review different pairs of whole numbers from 0 to 10 that add to 10. These combinations will become key helper facts for addition and subtraction fact strategies.

Fourth grade students are taking inspiration from English artist Tim Hopgood, as well as the winter season, to create their winter wonderland art.





Fifth grade students assumed the identities of significant figures for their Wax Museum presentations. This event was the culmination of their non-fiction unit, focusing on biographies, that developed skills across the curriculum.
