As part of the gardening unit, Pre-K students read The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle and planted their own tiny seeds. We're excited to see them grow!

As part of the rock unit, Pre-K students in Ms. Conklin's class became very interested in learning more about dinosaurs and fossils. Students created their own fossils with salt doh. They also learned how to speed up the melting process to release dinosaurs from a frozen egg by using salt. Did you know salt is a rock?

In art class, students read Only One You by Linda Kranz. This beautiful story reminds us to celebrate our uniqueness as we "swim through the sea of life." The vivid illustrations inspired students' river rock designs. These rocks will be used to create a rock garden as part of Project Playground.

Reminder: Schools will be closed this Friday, May 26 through next Tuesday, May 30.

Pre-K students are learning all about rocks. So far they have learned words to describe rocks, and have sorted rocks by size, shape, and color. Students are also using scientific tools such as magnifying glasses and rulers to examine and measure different types of rocks and gemstones.
