🎉 Pre-K and Kindergarten students celebrated the 100th day of school with exciting, hands-on activities! From counting and sorting collections of 100 to teamwork challenges, obstacle courses, and creative 100-themed art projects, students practiced critical thinking, perseverance, and collaboration. Laughter and learning filled the classrooms as children reflected on their growth and celebrated this fun milestone together! 🌟

Valentine’s Day was filled with joy in our Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms! ❤️ Students celebrated with crafts, sweet stories, and fun games—all made extra special thanks to our incredible class parents who planned and facilitated such thoughtful parties.
We are so grateful for the time, creativity, and care they bring to our school community. Celebrations like these help build connection, kindness, and a true sense of belonging for our youngest learners. 💕✨

Kindergarten artists explored sculpture through donut designs inspired by American pop culture artist Wayne Thiebaud! 🍩 Students practiced fine motor skills, followed multi-step directions, and used 3D vocabulary while creating colorful sculptures. Creativity, choice, and joyful learning filled the art room! 🎨✨

💧 Kindergarten mathematicians in action! Today, our students explored capacity by comparing how much different containers can hold—using real-life items like cups, bottles, and bowls. Hands-on learning makes math fun and meaningful! 🥄📏

✨ Learning in Action: Preschool Style! 🚦
As part of our Roads unit, our preschoolers are exploring how traffic lights help keep us safe. Through this interdisciplinary experience, students learned the function of traffic lights while strengthening important skills along the way!
✂️ Fine motor development through cutting and gluing
🔴🟡🟢 Color recognition using red, yellow, and green
🔺⬛ Shape identification as they built their own traffic lights
Hands-on learning helps our youngest learners make meaningful connections across subjects—while having fun! 💛

🔍✨ Purposeful Play Meets Skill Building! ✨🔍
The students of 301 are on a mission… their beloved stuffy pencil, Penny, has gone missing! 🐻✏️
Instead of waiting around, our amazing learners turned this into a search and rescue mission, putting their skills into action:
✅ Collaboration & Teamwork – planning the search together
✅ Communication – making flyers and asking grown-ups for help
✅ Problem Solving – strategizing where Penny might be
Have you seen Penny around the school? Our students are hoping she turns up soon… they’re missing her terribly! 💛
This is a perfect example of how playful, meaningful experiences can grow real-world skills. Go, 301! 🚀

Our kindergarten writers celebrated the culmination of their hard work during a joyful Writer’s Workshop celebration! Students created pattern books, tried out new and creative patterns, and used the word wall to help spell new words with confidence. The celebration ended with sharing time and an Author’s Chair spotlight, where students proudly read their books aloud. We are so proud of their growth as writers! 📚✨

Our kindergarten mathematicians had a blast during today’s game-based math lesson! Students spun numbers to practice number recognition and one-to-one counting, then worked together on a “Ten Frame Top It” game to identify numbers, compare greater and less than, and build strong number sense. Through play and collaboration, students reinforced counting skills while cheering each other on. Learning math is even better when it’s hands-on and fun! 🎲➕

Our Kindergarten friends are building strong phonemic awareness—a key prerequisite skill for reading fluency—through fun, interactive Heggerty lessons each day! 🎧📚
To boost engagement and reinforce learning, one student earns the Heggerty Hedgehog daily for great focus and participation. Way to listen, think, and grow as readers! 💛👏

What a great first week back from winter break! ❄️ Our students jumped right back into bucket filling by showing how being safe, kind, and responsible helps everyone do their best learning. These positive choices also help us be great friends to one another and build a caring classroom community. We’re so proud of the way our students are starting the new year strong! 💙

🏃♂️⚽ Kindergarten PE Fun in Action! ⚽🏃♀️ Our kindergarten students had a blast in physical education today playing a game called “Scoop and Dump!” 🧹🌿 The gym turned into a “messy backyard” as plush balls were scattered all over the floor—and it was the students’ job to clean it up! Through this playful game, students practiced: ✔️ Hand-eye coordination while scooping and carrying balls ✔️ Locomotor movements like running, walking, and bending ✔️ Spatial awareness as they navigated safely around friends and equipment Learning through movement and imagination keeps our youngest learners engaged, active, and smiling from start to finish! 💪😊

🎉 This week in Kindergarten, we explored family traditions! Students shared stories about their own holiday celebrations, discussed photos, and recorded their ideas on chart paper 📝. Each child then created a special drawing and labeled it to showcase their family’s unique traditions 🎨❤️. It was wonderful seeing all the creativity and learning about the different ways families celebrate!

✨ Principal for a Day! ✨
One of our most beloved traditions came to life last Friday as Matthew and Nico proudly took the reins as Principal for a Day! 🏫💙
They were hard at work answering emails, making important phone calls, and even introducing the Winter Concerts. We are so proud of the confidence, responsibility, and enthusiasm they brought to the role.
Thank you, Matthew and Nico, for leading our school with such big smiles and even bigger hearts! 🌟

Our Kindergarten students are building strong foundations in physical fitness, coordination, and teamwork! 🎉
This week in PE, they played “Make It and Take It,” a fun game that helped them practice throwing a ball underhand and overhand with proper technique. They also explored a variety of locomotor and non-locomotor movement patterns while showing excellent listening, thinking, and direction-following skills.
We’re so proud of their progress and enthusiasm! 💪🏽🏃♀️🧠

✨ Kindergarten Writer’s Workshop Highlight! ✨
Today our young authors used sentimental items to inspire their artifacts. 💖 Writers worked hard by drawing, labeling, and using brave spelling to stretch out sounds and write their best.
We are so proud of their creativity and effort! 🌟

🌍✏️ Kindergarten explorers went on a global adventure in our library! After reading Penguin on Vacation by Salina Yoon, students reflected on where they would go on vacation and took us on their own illustrated journeys around the world. What a creative way to dive into an author study and spark imagination! 🐧✨

Our Kindergarteners are strengthening their “pointing power” as they read familiar books! 📖✨ By pointing to each word, they’re connecting letters and sounds, building confidence, and discovering the joy of reading. 🌟 Every familiar story helps them become stronger, independent readers!

🦃🎈 Celebrating Thanksgiving🎈🦃
This week, our middle school students partnered with the Early Childhood Center for a special Thanksgiving learning experience. Together, they explored Thanksgiving traditions, especially the magic of the Macy’s Day Parade!
Students designed and created their own parade balloons and then proudly marched through the first floor of the ECC, bringing smiles and excitement to all. 🎉

🖍️🦃 Kindergarten Art Spotlight!
Today our young artists put their knowledge of lines, curves, and colors to work as they created their very own realistic or imaginary turkeys! From rainbow feathers to zig-zag wings and curly tails, each turkey was a masterpiece of creativity and design.
We loved seeing students experiment, take risks, and bring their artistic ideas to life. 🎨✨
