Our annual Fall Sing Alongs are always a hit! Thanks to Mrs. Meyer for organizing a fun event where our students in grades 1-4 showcased their musical activities and dance moves. We are grateful to have music in our lives!
Classes 1A and 4L are buddies this year and they worked together for a Thanksgiving activity. They brainstormed things and/or people for which they are thankful. They decorated feathers and created a beautiful turkey display. We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
The Great Thanksgiving Food Drive was a HUGE SUCCESS thanks to our generous families! We collected over 1005 items. With such an abundant amount of food, we were able to donate food to 3 food pantries (Grace Church, Holy Trinity and Plainfield Community Center). We are so grateful for everyone's kindness and spreading joy to all. Thank you to the Early Act students and advisors for their hard work counting and restocking the shelves at Grace Church.
For Veterans Day, Mrs. Hahn's third grade class showed gratitude for our veterans by creating beautiful poppy themed thank you cards. The cards were then dropped off at Applebee's to be distributed to veterans dining there today. Happy Veterans Day!
For Italian Heritage month, a grandparent of a student in Class 2B came and worked with the students to make their own pasta. Mr. Berado prepared the dough in advance and he brought in the machine to flatten out the dough. The kids were able to crank the pasta machine and then make their pasta into farfalle. The students then brought their pasta home. What a fun activity and the kids loved the experience!

Happy Halloween! Students and staff had a fun day with the various activities.
This week, two parent presenters came in to teach class 3P all about Diwali. The students learned the three different steps to the Indian dance called Bhangra. They watched Binny's Diwali virtual read-aloud and listened to a parent read a book about the origins of Diwali. Additionally, students colored both a diya, which is a traditional Indian lamp, and a rangoli pattern, which is meant to bring good luck and prosperity. Lastly, students learned important and interesting facts about Diwali, Hindu culture, and India. Students were excited to learn about and experience part of the Diwali tradition. Parent presenter, Mr. Shusteris, visited 2B to discuss how hospitals can help people in the community. He works for Atlantic Health systems and he talked to the students about how hospitals help people solve problems by diagnosing illnesses and helping them get well. After the presentation, all the students received first aid kits.

Fourth graders are learning about circuits and energy in science. students work in small groups to investigate various pathways to light light the bulbs in their circuit.
The Jefferson Garden fall cleanup was a great success. With everyone's help, we were able to complete our last harvest for the season Thank you to Mrs. Halloran, and our parents and students, who helped over the weekend to prepare the garden for winter. It was a fun and productive day!
Walk/Bike to School Day was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who participated and volunteered to help.
We had a fun week at Jefferson for the Week of Respect! On Tuesday, we had a meaningful and entertaining assembly program with Basketball Jones. He shared messages about the importance of respect, kindness, and caring. Thank you to our PTO for sponsoring this program.
