This week, two parent presenters came in to teach class 3P all about Diwali. The students learned the three different steps to the Indian dance called Bhangra. They watched Binny's Diwali virtual read-aloud and listened to a parent read a book about the origins of Diwali. Additionally, students colored both a diya, which is a traditional Indian lamp, and a rangoli pattern, which is meant to bring good luck and prosperity. Lastly, students learned important and interesting facts about Diwali, Hindu culture, and India. Students were excited to learn about and experience part of the Diwali tradition. Thank you to our parents for sharing with us!
