
Happy Halloween! Students and staff had a fun day with the various activities.











This week, two parent presenters came in to teach class 3P all about Diwali. The students learned the three different steps to the Indian dance called Bhangra. They watched Binny's Diwali virtual read-aloud and listened to a parent read a book about the origins of Diwali. Additionally, students colored both a diya, which is a traditional Indian lamp, and a rangoli pattern, which is meant to bring good luck and prosperity. Lastly, students learned important and interesting facts about Diwali, Hindu culture, and India. Students were excited to learn about and experience part of the Diwali tradition. Great conversation and coffee during AM drop off at Wilson last week. This week, Dr. G will be at Washington this morning, Franklin tomorrow (Tuesday), and Jefferson on Friday from 8:30-9:30a. Please stop by!

Parent presenter, Mr. Shusteris, visited 2B to discuss how hospitals can help people in the community. He works for Atlantic Health systems and he talked to the students about how hospitals help people solve problems by diagnosing illnesses and helping them get well. After the presentation, all the students received first aid kits.




Throughout October, we celebrate the enduring legacy and vibrant culture of Italian Americans. We honor their significant contributions to art, science, cuisine, and countless other fields that have enriched our nation's tapestry.


This October, we recognize the resilience, achievements, and ongoing advocacy of individuals with disabilities. We reaffirm our commitment to creating a more inclusive society and celebrate the diverse perspectives and talents that enrich our communities.


Fourth graders are learning about circuits and energy in science. students work in small groups to investigate various pathways to light light the bulbs in their circuit.










The Jefferson Garden fall cleanup was a great success. With everyone's help, we were able to complete our last harvest for the season Thank you to Mrs. Halloran, and our parents and students, who helped over the weekend to prepare the garden for winter. It was a fun and productive day!









Walk/Bike to School Day was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who participated and volunteered to help.




We had a fun week at Jefferson for the Week of Respect! On Tuesday, we had a meaningful and entertaining assembly program with Basketball Jones. He shared messages about the importance of respect, kindness, and caring. Thank you to our PTO for sponsoring this program.

We celebrated “International Peace Day.” Our students engaged in “peaceful” activities that help our school community foster growth, well-being, and positive connections. They went outside and “chalked the walk” with peaceful messages around the school. Thank you to Ms. Saliceti for organizing such a fun and meaningful event!

On Patriot Day, our students and staff wore red , white and blue. On this day, we remember the historic event and appreciate all the heroes who helped on September 11th.
