Our 5th graders had special guests visit with us. Former Jefferson Jaguars who are working on their Girl Scout Silver Award came to teach the students about pollinator plants that are good for our environment.

The Liberty Science Center offers great programs for all age groups. This week our 5th graders had fun with candy chemistry experiments and our 1st graders explored light and shadows. Thank you to our PTO for sponsoring these enrichment activities for all our students.

Our students are enjoying the gymnastics unit in PE. They rotate to various stations to work on cooperation, strength, flexibility, and body control.
Our teachers are learning from one another during this afternoon's staff in-service meeting. Teachers brainstormed and shared culturally responsive practices and strategies. Everyone walked away with new ideas to try!
Our students have started growing peas, tomatoes, lettuce, and broccoli indoors. They will be observing and tending to the plants daily. Once the weather warms up, the students will transplant them into our outdoor garden.
First graders in Mrs. Kosciuk's class learned about Holi today. Holi celebrates the end of winter and arrival of Spring in India. It is a time to see others, play, laugh, forget and forgive. Happy Holi to all!

Today we kicked off Read Across America with drop everything and read at Jefferson School. All students and staff gathered together in the hallways to read quietly for 10 minutes before resuming their afternoon activities. It was magical!
