Class 5L had a parent presenter on Friday, April 21. Mrs. Cahill shared about her father, Alex's grandfather, who was a member of NASA's Mission Control Team during the Gemini and Apollo missions in the 1960's and 70's. As a part of the presentation, she shared her collection of original pictures from many of the missions. Among the historic artifacts, was a certificate from President Nixon awarding the Presidential Medal of Freedom to the team at NASA for their role in bringing the Apollo 13 astronauts home safely. 5L was fortunate to have this experience, which coordinated well with our current Science unit, Earth and Sun.
