Trained docents from Master Tree Stewards of the 4H Club visit Jefferson 4th graders to share an interactive lesson on the importance of tree conservation.
Students in Mrs. Culjak's Pre-Calculus Honors class used their knowledge of polar equations to represent flowers. They also took some time to make 120 extra lunches to donate to families in need.

At a special meeting on January 10, the Board approved the appointment of former Board member Kent Diamond to fill the unexpired term of Amy Root who resigned last November. Mr. Diamond is expected to be sworn in at the January 17 Board meeting and will serve through April 24.
Kindergarten students at Lincoln learn about abstract art and the work of Piet Mondrian. They paint, cut and glue to create their own abstractions.
Jefferson 1st graders are learning about "10 more or 10 less" than a given number. After the focus lesson, the class played a game called "What’s Your Way?," having fun with their partners while learning. Students then practiced the skill independently.
Edison 8th graders are currently taking part in a two-week interdisciplinary unit: "The Holocaust - What Hate Can Do." EIS Media Specialist Mr. Cusumano engaged students in a lesson about the role that propaganda played in influencing beliefs and behaviors in Nazi Germany.
McKinley 2nd graders explore nonfiction texts in Reading Workshop, while 1st graders in Mrs. Krihak's class work on persuasive writing. It's fun learning new information and sharing ideas!
