We love seeing every fifth grader face a challenge that they did not think they could do and watching them do it during our overnight at the Fairview Lake YMCA.

During our Week of Respect, Librarian Christine Pitarresi read Kindness Grows to every class. Guidance Counselor Jaime LaRosa assembled all of the leaves filled with our acts of kindness and made them grow.

We hope to see you at "Understanding the HIB Process," an important session for all Westfield Public Schools parents/guardians tomorrow (Tuesday), October 8 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Wilson Elementary School. Please remember to register: https://bit.ly/HIB-Session-Oct8-RSVP

Did someone really say 1200 pounds of top soil, peat moss, and seed? Yup.

Which one does not belong?

Can't wait for our pictures to be ready!

Yes, they did! At the First Grade Fun Night, our newest Wildcats challenged their parents to a water balloon contest. One of many wonderful events sponsored by our PTO.

At an awards ceremony last week, Washington School received Gold Level Recognition for encouraging children to walk and bicycle. Walk and Bike to School Day is this Wednesday!

Just another day of reading around the campfire.

Reminder for parents/guardians of students in PreK to 12th Grade: Don't miss this opportunity to learn about the district's HIB process from members of our counseling team. Tuesday, October 8, beginning at 6:30p at Wilson.

We had a great Back-to-School Night. In a surprise move this year, parents attended classes during the day (sitting where their children usually sit), while the children attended back-to-school night in the evening : - )

We are excited to introduce an important resource for our community - our Facilities Bond Referendum Information Portal. The portal will be updated frequently with lots of important details, as we move closer to finalizing the referendum in February 2025. You'll find an easy-access button on the district and school websites.

We love Meet and Greet. The line of students and parents coming to say "hello" was like a Taylor Swift concert! Our teachers volunteer to do this because it helps everyone feel more relaxed and excited for the first day of school.

There is nothing like the first day of a new school year. Come as you are!

Congratulations to Ryka Kaushik for the winning design of this year's fifth-grade T-shirt!

From September 15 to October 15, we celebrate the rich cultural heritage, diverse traditions, and invaluable contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans to our nation. We honor the resilience, creativity, and vibrant spirit of Hispanic communities that have shaped and continue to enrich our society in countless ways. #WPSCelebratesDiversity
