
Students in 5K have enjoyed reading, annotating, and connecting to poetry. They found a true passion for poetry while reading Unfolding Bud and The Eagle. Groups discussed each poem’s meaning and theme, as well as connecting the poem to real life situations.




Students in Mr. Samarco's class created a model to help them understand water erosion and investigate its impact on landforms.




Our fifth grade band and chorus students performed for their peers, under the direction of Mr. Stouffer and Mrs. Webber. This is Mr. Stouffer's 25th and final year with the district. Thank you for all that you have done for our students.




Students in class 5K collected, analyzed and represented fractional data on line plots. Students used their line plot to identify the maximum length, minimum length, range, mode, median and mean by applying the operation skills of fractions to solve problems.

We had an assembly from Talewise. The students observed and participated in dry ice experiments tied together by an interactive story, "Dragons & The Ice Sorceress." Thank you to our PTO for arranging this.










Students in Miss Brown's class did an egg-drop STEM challenge. They combined creativity and collaboration with physics and materials science to create their egg-drop devices.

Members of Wilson's fifth grade chorus, under the direction of Mrs. Webber, performed the National Anthem at a Somerset Patriots game.






Our fourth grade band kicked off our spring concert season. They performed during the day for their peers and then again for their families that night. They have grown so much this year, under the guidance of Mr. Stouffer.

Writers in Ms. Guerra's class chose an animal from the Endangered Species List to do research on. They are using graphic organizers to take notes before presenting their findings with their peers.





In Mrs. Venturino's class, students worked collaboratively to calculate the volume of the Willis Tower in Chicago. The building is compiled of mega-modules of varied heights, requiring them to compile their "mega-math skills" to accomplish this task.





Wilson second grade scientists made initial observations of their mealworms as they continued their unit of study on insects and plants.






Wilson second grade students played "Array Concentration" during math. With a partner, they practiced finding the total number of objects in arrays and wrote matching
addition number models.






This past week we honored our crossing guards. The students signed their names and wrote messages in appreciation of all that our crossing guards do to make sure students get to and from school safely. When you see them, take a moment to say "Thank You."







Students in Mr. Borchin's class did an activity simulating the Oklahoma Land Rush of 1889 during social studies. Back in the classroom, they discussed and reflected on the experience.
