We had about 100 future Franklin all stars (incoming 1st graders) come to visit Franklin School. Their parents attended an information session in the gym while students did fun activities in the classrooms! What a great event!

Just sharing a good message!

Our volleyball game pep rally was loaded with surprises and enthusiasm. We announced which students won a chance to play in the volleyball game on Tuesday. Teacher teams were announced! The winner of the t-shirt contest was Joey Linenberg! Tickets are still available but not for long!

4th graders had an informative bike safety assembly from EZ Ride today! We are excited to practice our skills at the bike rodeo next week!

Congrats to our Music Students of the Month for their kindness, respect, a positive attitude and strong effort in every class!

Apparently it's not field day without some type of eye black! There was lots of school spirit today!

It stopped raining enough for us to squeeze in a great field day! WHS students spent the day helping out. Our PTO members also pitched in. It was a great day!

Teachers Treasures are in full swing! Raffle winners from our annual Franklin Bash get to do things with their teachers like head downtown for lunch and decorating (and eating!)cookies! So much fun! More events to come!

Mr. Geyer leads our 5th graders in singing at the Somerset Patriots game each spring. Franklin always has a huge turnout! The 5th graders always sound great!

Project Playground hasn't just added lots of fun and accessible equipment, they've raised funds to help spruce up our entire playground area. We have new benches being installed, new tables with improved accessibility, a fabulous mural project underway and a brick area at the top of the new ramp that the district installed. This is a true community effort. Thank to our PTO, Project Playground and so many of our parents who generously donated. Thank you everyone!

Bees were buzzing at Franklin this week, in our Library of all places! Thank you to our PTO and our Habitat Garden parent volunteers for bringing this excellent presentation to students who have been working in the Habitat Garden this year.

Our 5th Grade Student Council Character Education Committee is always looking for ways to provide positive messaging within our school. Rafael and Charlie spoke on the loud speaker about Mental Health Awareness Month. They explained that positive affirmations, (we sometimes call them "power words" ) can help us all harness the courage and confidence to accomplish things that are hard (they used these techniques to gather their courage to speak on the loudspeaker to the whole school which is no easy task and proves these strategies work!). Thanks guys!

Our 5th grade band and chorus put on two great shows today. The daytime performance was for our students and staff. The nighttime was a for a packed house which brought out the best in our students! We so appreciate our parents' support for our art and music programs! There was an ORFF Ensemble, a song about Gnomes attacking, a Beatles hit and Wicked's "Popular". Parents lined up down the street for a good seat. What a night!! Thank you to our 5th graders for all of their hard work and the leadership of Mr. Geyer and Mr. Staluppi.

Bravo to Franklin's orchestra! Ms. Naylor conducted a great performance at school today. Our student audience were outstanding listeners too.

Thank you to our PTO for sponsoring our spring book fair! Students got a chance to stock up on the latest titles (at buy one get one free prices) and raise a little money for our PTO. Thank to everyone for participating!

Spring is here! Before the rain took over, 1-H got outside for some independent reading time. 1-C planted seeds for Mother's Day!

Congratulations to our Music Students of the Month! They stood out for their strong effort, a positive attitude and kindness toward others!! Keep it up!

5th Graders had a great time on our Buehler field trip today! The Mission to Mars was successful despite surprise meteors and dangerous humidity levels! The weather was also perfect for a lunch outside afterwards.

Congratulations to our Spotlight on Character students, Amelia, Jaxson, Abigail, Blake, Sienna, Harrison, Maverick, Eden, Emma and Christian. They stood out for actions like Citizenship, Caring, Responsibility, Fairness and Respect.

We so appreciate when parents visit to share about the holidays they celebrate. Easter and Passover were on the calendar for April!
