Hannah made this announcement today in honor of Veterans Day. Veterans Day is a special holiday celebrated every year on November 11. Veterans Day began in 1919, after World War I to honor all the brave men and women who have served in our military. Our military includes the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Space Force. These heroes protect our freedom and keep our country safe. If you know a veteran, be sure to thank them today. Happy Veterans Day! We have various slide shows and books to share with students to help educate them about military service. Franklin is also participating in Cards for Troops. Students are making cards that will be sent to troops thanking them for their service.

Happy November! It is time to announce our monthly character trait. The November Character Trait is Gratitude, which means choosing to appreciate the people and things in our lives.
Showing gratitude can be as simple as saying thank you to someone who helps you, writing a note to a teacher, or telling a friend you’re glad to have them. You can also show gratitude by taking care of the things you use every day like cleaning up your desk or returning library books on time.
This month, let’s all practice finding moments to be thankful and notice how it makes our school an even happier place to be!

Red Ribbon Week is a time to focus on making healthy and safe choices. Today, we’re showing our commitment by wearing red! Making good choices helps keep our minds and bodies strong — whether it’s getting enough sleep, eating healthy foods, spending time outside, or taking a walk with a friend or family member. Let’s make today a great day to take care of ourselves and encourage others to do the same!
