Wilson 3rd graders in Mrs. Stanzel's class started the year off strong with some colorful drawings, math problem-solving, an introduction to cursive, and self portraits for Back-to-School Night.
To kick-off Franklin's theme of belonging, buddy classes read "The Big Umbrella". There is always room under the big umbrella for everyone to belong. In art classes, students helped to decorate umbrellas in the Franklin Art Gallery with kind words and messages of belonging.
Roosevelt 6th, 7th, and 8th grade scientists kicked off the new school year with science lessons that included lab safety procedures, chemical reactions, and collecting and analyzing data on contact forces.

After learning about mass, volume, and density, students in Mrs. Liptack and Miss Nicastro's Earth Science classes made predictions and recorded data. Students were able to apply course knowledge to everyday experiences and gained a better understanding of the world around them.
