
The McKinley community recently celebrated World Kindness Day by donating generously to a PTO-sponsored Coat and Clothing Drive. McKinley principal Mary McCabe adds: "At the end of the drive, some of the 5th Grade students helped to load the donations onto a truck."

As part of an anti-vaping campaign, our Student Assistance Coordinators (SACs) at Edison and Roosevelt held a poster contest last month, with the theme: Live Clean. Breathe Clean. Skip the Vape Scene. Kudos to the contest winners and thanks to all for their creative entries.



As we prepare to gather for Thanksgiving, let us reflect on our blessings. May this day bring together family and friends in a spirit of appreciation, kindness, and gratitude.


WHS students in Mrs. Dennis’s Biology classes investigated claims about enzymes found in liver, running a series of experiments. Enzymes are part of the biochemistry unit in Biology where students explore the molecules that make up their food and their bodies.



Washington 3rd graders recently investigated and observed the properties of water. They compared how water drops interact with different surfaces, collecting materials in nature, such as tree branches, leaves, rocks, and grass.


"Show & Tell isn’t just fun—it’s a powerful tool for developing functional communication skills," says Lincoln principal Dr. Tiffany Jacobson. "These early communication experiences set the stage for success in conversations, collaboration, and problem-solving later in life."


On World Kindness Day, Franklin students chalked the sidewalk with messages of kindness and positivity, while Tamaques students wore name tags and yellow to say hello to new friends.

Wilson grade-level buddies recently took their learning outdoors. "They dove into their stories, analyzing character traits and bringing them to life through creative illustrations," says Wilson principal Crystal Marsh.

Across the district, we paid tribute to veterans for their service and sacrifice. Franklin welcomed Mrs. Purdo, a Franklin mom and veteran, who arranged for Col. William Morris from the Army National Guard to speak about serving others during nearly 40 years in the military.

Mrs. Semon's Period 4 Math class at Edison reviewed for their test with a Jeopardy competition. "EIS teachers find creative ways to make studying fun," says EIS principal LaNova Schall.



Lincoln students explored the rich history and culture of the Lenape Tribe through an engaging, hands-on assembly. They learned about traditional Lenape tools, clothing, games, and musical instruments, gaining a deeper appreciation for the tribe’s way of life.
