March is Youth Art Month and Music In Our Schools Month. We're kicking both off with an Opening Reception on Tuesday, March 5 from 4:30-6:30p at the Roig Collection. We hope to see you there, as we celebrate the arts in our schools!

Our fourth graders visited the Westfield African American exhibit at our Memorial Library. Each student went on a "treasure hunt" to search for answers to questions the teachers prepared on a "pre-visit." We learned so much about the famous people who have visited Westfield, including Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Jackie Robinson, and the history of places that we pass by every day (such as the slave auction site downtown).

What a fun Science and Math Night we had on Thursday. So many teachers and parents were helping us learn about rockets, polymers, probability, and. so much more. We think we even landed a spaceship on the moon that night!

We finally got everyone to join the children singing at our Valentine's Day Sing-Along!

I think this has something to do with football....

Our first graders walked to the Westfield Library this week to learn about the books they can borrow for their animal stories.

Today was the first day of the PTO-sponsored chess and scrabble club. Forty students learned how to outmaneuver their opponents under the guidance of middle school wizard helpers.
