Students in Ms. Guerra's class conducted a reaction time investigation during science. The typical human reaction time is about 1/4 second. Do you think you could catch a dollar bill between your thumb and pointer finger? Think fast!


Wilson first, second, and third grade students had a Fire Safety and Prevention assembly with members of the Westfield Fire Department. Please take the time to develop a Family Fire Escape Plan. You can visit the Westfield Fire Department's website for more fire safety tips.

Respect is a Wilson School pillar of character each and every day. During the first week of October, our students take a little extra time to discuss what it means to be respectful at school, at home, and in our communities. This week in libary, students read the text "Tomorrow I'll Be Kind" and created bookmarks to spread the kindness to their peers when they check out books.



Schools are closed on Monday, October 10. Staff will have an in-service day.

Wilson's first and fourth grade and second and fifth grade buddies met and completed "get to know you" activities. Throughout the year, they will collaborate on reading, writing, and other special projects.



Schools are closed on Wednesday, October 5 in observance of Yom Kippur.

October 2 is National Custodian Day. We're grateful to these dedicated professionals who work hard to keep our buildings and grounds clean and safe. When we asked students if our custodians are superheroes, the answer was a resounding "YES!" https://youtu.be/wp716Z8C2Vo

Students in Mrs. Kasemeyer's second grade class engaged in a discussion about different types of communities during social studies. They were able to make connections between what they learned and what they know about the Westfield community and other communities they have visited.


Today our students learned about neurodiversity and inclusion during an introductory assembly about our Wilson Warriors Recess Club.
