Wilson students took a trip to the stars today, during the traveling planetarium assembly. They learned about the planets, moons, and stars in our solar system, how they move relative to one another, and which stars make up constellations.

First grade students in Mrs. Collins' art classes created turtles inspired the Dr. Seuss text and illustrations for Yertle the Turtle, in honor of Read Across America Week.




Wilson kicked off our Read Across America Week celebration by welcoming author Beth Ferry. She did presentations for each grade where she talked about the writing, illustrating, and publishing processes. Inspiration can be found anywhere, when you add a little imagination.






All schools will have a DELAYED OPENING tomorrow (Tues), Feb 28, due to timing of forecasted winter storm. Check Inclement Weather Procedures on district website. If conditions worsen overnight and it becomes necessary to close schools, we will strive to notify you by 6:00 a.m.


So many Wilson families came out for our second PTO game night of the year. Thank you to the parents who organized this fun event and the teachers who helped with the games!

Students in Mrs. Morris' class put on a Reader's theater production based on the story, Tacky the Penguin. This helped to develop students' reading fluency and the message of the story reminded them to be true to themselves.




Students from Mrs. Kraus and Ms. Brown's classes buddied up for a 100-Day Stem Challenge. With their buddy, they had to build a tall structure using 100 toothpicks and 100 marshmallows. A fun (and a little sticky) time was had by all.





Wilson's first grade students and staff celebrated our 100th day of school by dressing up, writing about what they would do at 100 years old, and creating crafts with 100 pieces.
