
The Great Kindness Challenge kicked off today! It is so great to see so many of our students tipping their favorite hats to kindness!

After monitoring weather conditions overnight, all Westfield Public Schools will have a delayed opening today (Wednesday), January 17 to allow time for the DPW and our buildings and grounds crews to address icy conditions. Due to the forecasted winter storm and the potential for icy road conditions, all Westfield Public Schools will have a delayed opening tomorrow (Tuesday), January 16, to help safeguard our students and staff during their morning commute. All Westfield Public Schools and offices are closed on Monday, January 15, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.


Minions!! 4th graders are learning to work with plaster in art to create their own Minions!!




Safe Routes to School walking and biking assembly- this afternoon our 2nd graders learned all about pedestrian and bicycle safety through an assembly delivered by The New Jersey Safe Routes Resource Center.

Mr. Harry the elf- once again our amazing Mr. Harry brings Holiday cheer and laughter to all Tamaques !




Character traits- our 3rd graders have been focusing on their understanding of character traits in reading this week. Students in classroom 3L participate in guided reading groups with Mrs. Leffler while classmates practice identifying traits independently.





Water density! Today, students in classroom 3V are learning about water density in Science. Weekly Science lessons and experiments are always fun for our students.



MakerSpace- Students in 4B participating now ! Students have opportunity to explore their creativity by using their minds and hands!

Senora Matto's teaching 5th grade Espanol! Elementary students in Westfield start Spanish in the 3rd grade 1x per week. Our 4th graders also revive 1 class per week and then 2x a week in 5th grade. You'll here more about World Language in tomorrow's PRIDE!

Happy Halloween! Be sure to attend today's parade at 1:10pm. This year's teachers/staff theme is, Tamaques Rocks! The costumes are amazing!


Safety First- our entire school practiced an on campus evacuation drill this morning with assistance from our school safety specialist and a member of the WFD. We are always practicing what to do in the event of a fire or emergency situation.



The Arts and Music are such essential components to our students overall learning experiences at TAM. Students in all grades attend art class 1x week for 40 minutes and beginning in the 4th grade, our students can begin taking strings and band lessons!
