McKinley School enjoyed Wellness Day at the end of May (Mental Health Awareness Month). Students participated in yoga, Zumba and art, planted seeds, and spent time with therapy dogs. Many of our students shared that Wellness Day was the best day of the year.






Students had a blast participating in the "Parker Basketball Jones" Assembly. The presenter taught us about growth mindset, cooperation, and the power of positive attitudes.



Fourth Graders enjoyed a fantastic field trip to the NJ State House and Old Barracks Museum. These students are learning about the Revolutionary War and the structures of our state government so this trip very meaningful.




McKinley staff participated in a color run to close out Field Day.






Students showed their school spirit and enjoyed being active during Field Day.

Westfield resident and chemist, Dr. Korfmacher, presented a chemistry lesson to our 4th graders this week. The students learned about different types of chemicals, the states of matter, and the pH scale. It was an interactive and enriching presentation.



Mr. Hickey's 5th grade students spent time taking care of the soil in our garden and harvesting spinach and radishes.


The 5th Grade Band and Orchestra Concert was fantastic. Our students have really grown as musicians under the instruction of Ms. Fatsis and Mr. Staluppi. Our staff and students loved the performance.





Thank you to the wonderful McKinley PTO for organizing a fantastic teacher and staff appreciation week.

4th Graders presented a Living Wax Museum. Students chose a trailblazer to research and share what they learned. Parents, staff, and students loved hearing about the lives of these inspirational trailblazers.










5th Graders in Ms. Toulios' music class created a variety of instruments out of recycled materials. Students had fun sharing the materials they used to build their instruments and enjoyed displaying the variety of sounds they created.

Fifth graders listened thoughtfully to the testimony shared by the granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor. Students were empowered to identify and stand up against acts of hate.

Under the direction of Ms. Fatsis and Mr. Staluppi, the 4th Grade Orchestra and Band performed a wonderful concert for our school this morning. It was a lovely way to start the day.
