These 5th grade students are using their math skills to research possible field trips. This project encourages creative thinking and problem solving as students apply their skills to a real life situation. Can't wait to see their results!

We are celebrating Black History Month at McKinley! Each day, students are learning about great achievements of African Americans. Today, some of our 5th grade students heard the poetry of Langston Hughes and Kwame Alexander. Students’ comments and responses were quite insightful.


Fifth graders in Ms. Sarnowski’s art class painted their 3-D mini landscapes today. They learned to use different clay techniques, such as slab and coil, and included many aspects of nature in their designs. Today they added color to the landscapes. Beautiful work!
