
With the spring weather comes the Mileage Club, a student favorite at Tamaques organized by dedicated parent volunteers with 5th grade helpers. Runners/walkers receive a popsicle stick for every lap until they reach a mile, turning their stick in for a plastic charm.




In celebration of Hindu Spring Renewal Festival Lay Krathong, 6th graders in Mr. Lane and Mr. Knight's social studies classes reenacted the festival, writing worries on the sail of their Krathong (raft) before floating it down Ganges and Indus Rivers to carry those worries away.






Jefferson 5th graders play a math game to practice multiplying and dividing decimals by powers of 10. Students enjoy working in small groups and learning together.





Congrats to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders who received Edison Personal Best Awards, recognized by their teachers for contributing in positive ways to the culture and climate of Edison through their character, behavior, and kindness.

Another wonderful celebration of diversity as Washington held its 2nd annual Multicultural Festival in March. 28 countries represented with crafts, food, language, geography. PTO-sponsored favorite was well attended with more than 150 "passports" distributed to young travelers.

Fifth grade engineers in Mr. Hannis's class recently tested their popsicle bridges in science. One bridge held 65 lbs. before collapsing!







Congrats to the Westfield Odyssey of the Mind team for coming in 1st in NJ for a second year in a row! OOTM is a problem-solving competition that poses unique, open-ended questions to participants, while emphasizing teamwork, budgeting, time management, public speaking, and more.

In March, students and their families from the Westfield Public School District participated in a districtwide community service initiative in support of homeless shelters, fighting hunger campaigns, senior citizens, rescue animal organizations, and others in need of charitable help. EIS and RIS 8th graders were fortunate to hear from Stephen Hill, as he recounted his 10-year struggle with addiction and inspiring journey to recovery. He also held an assembly for parents. We are grateful to Stephen for sharing his important story with our school community.

There were royal dignitaries, Supreme Court justices, authors, artists, inventors, scientists, and lots of professional athletes, as Tamaques 4th graders displayed their research and presenting skills during the annual Wax Museum. Hats off to the students and the Grade 4 team!









During Neurodiversity Week, Wilson students took part in workshops, facilitated by district behaviorists, to help them gain a deeper understanding of the different ways people experience the world. They wrapped up the week by chalking positive messages on the school grounds.
