Group photo of Edison students selected for Region Band and Orchestra

Fourteen student musicians from Edison and Roosevelt Intermediate Schools have been selected to perform with the Central Jersey Music Educators Association Region (CJMEA) Band and Orchestra in early March.   “Over 500 students from Central Jersey auditioned to be part of these prestigious groups,” says Edison band director John Scozzaro who, with EIS orchestra director Amanda Gant, RIS band director James Doyle, and RIS orchestra director Brice Freeman, helped students prepare for the auditions. “The students had to learn an advanced solo as well as perform scales and sight-reading during these auditions. These groups are highly selective and are very difficult to make.”
