At its meeting on October 18, 2022, the Westfield Board of Education approved the appointment of Patricia Ramos as School Business Administrator/Board Secretary.  Ramos will succeed Dana Sullivan who is retiring as of December 31, 2022.

Ramos joined the Westfield Public School District in July 2022 as Assistant Business Administrator.

“Since starting in Westfield, I have been impressed by the dedication of the staff.  There is a true motivation to provide for the success of all students,” says Ramos.  “Even with a budget that is less than comparably-sized districts, the staff has found ways to keep Westfield a top-rated public school system.”

Prior to coming to Westfield, Ramos served as assistant business administrator for 18 years in the Livingston Public School District, working closely with the business administrator in preparing and maintaining the annual school budget.

“During my time in the Livingston Public Schools, I was trained on all aspects of the business administrator role including transportation, payroll, buildings and grounds, managing employee concerns, food services, and referendum projects,” Ramos adds.

Ramos received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at St. Peter’s College in 2000 and previously worked as a supervising senior accountant at Ernst and Young in Iselin, New Jersey from 2000-2003.

“Mrs. Ramos has a clear understanding of the role of finance and how it impacts a school district and its students,” says Superintendent Dr. Raymond González.  “Her strong credentials and expertise will serve the district well as we prepare to present the 2023-2024 school budget to Westfield voters in April.”
