Superintendent of the Year

Westfield Public Schools is proud to announce that Superintendent Dr. Raymond A. González has been named New Jersey’s 2026 Superintendent of the Year by the New Jersey Association of School Administrators (NJASA). He will now represent New Jersey as a candidate for the National Superintendent of the Year, to be announced at the AASA National Conference on Education in February 2026.

“Being named the New Jersey Superintendent of the Year is an incredible honor,” said Dr. González. “This recognition reflects the extraordinary work of our students, staff, families, and Board of Education. Together, we remain committed to ensuring inclusive, innovative learning environments where every child can thrive.”

NJASA Executive Director Dr. Richard G. Bozza praised Dr. González as “a leader whose strategic vision and dedication continue to move public education forward in New Jersey.”

Dr. González has served in multiple New Jersey districts and is recognized statewide for his leadership in strategic planning, governance, and the responsible integration of emerging technologies in schools.
