Department Information

The Human Resources Department is responsible for collecting, organizing and managing the data related to every employee of the Westfield Public Schools. The process begins with recruitment and advertising employment opportunities and continues as a candidate is recommended for appointment to a position and appointed by the Board of Education.

The Human Resources Department ensures that employees are provided with appropriate compensation and any other necessary information related to the specific position and the department works closely with the Payroll Department to ensure that all records are accurate and according to negotiated agreements. The Human Resources Department also maintains records such as participation in professional development activities, attendance including personal leave, sick leave, vacation leave and other temporary and extended leaves of absence. The department is responsible for providing substitute coverage when an employee is unable to be present.
