THANK YOU! We are extremely grateful to everyone who participated in yesterday’s school budget and bond referendum vote. Whether you voted by mail or in person, your voice helped shape the future of our schools.
PRELIMINARY RESULTS
According to unofficial results from the Union County Clerk’s Office, both the additional spending proposal for the 2025-2026 district operating budget and the bond referendum were approved by voters:
2025–2026 Budget Additional Spending Proposal: ✅ 3,604 YES | ❌ 1,571 NO
Bond Proposal 1 – School Building Improvements: ✅ 3,322 YES | ❌ 1,847 NO
Bond Proposal 2 – Full-Day Kindergarten Expansion: ✅ 3,195 YES | ❌ 1,981 NO
These preliminary results reflect years of thoughtful planning and community input around the needs of our schools.
BOARD ELECTION
As we await certification of the official results, we also extend our congratulations to incumbents—Robert Benacchio, Kristen Sonnek-Schmelz, and Mary Wickens—on their re-election to the Westfield Board of Education. We thank all of the candidates for their willingness to serve and for their commitment to public education.
