Students in Ms. Goodwin's TED class were challenged to use only one piece of paper and a pair of scissors to make a hole large enough to fit their body through it. They problem-solved together and were able to fit the entire class through one piece !

RIS 8th Grade Peer Leaders are hard at work. Today they met to plan Friday's Advisory and Mix-It-Up-Day Activities.
Ms. Burke's 7th grade Language Arts classes had a "book tasting" today. They sampled various book titles to determine their top choices for their upcoming memoir book clubs.

8th Grade Philanthropy Chairs, Caroline Sahm and Brian Grygiel, of the RIS Student Council, stand with a box of donated gloves, mittens and socks. These items are being sent to the Elizabeth Coalition for the Homeless for children and adults in need. Thank you to all the RIS families who donated to this wonderful cause right before the holidays!
Great job by Mr. Lane’s students, as they presented on one of the following topics; how Hunter-Gatherers lived to find food and not become food, how the Agricultural Revolution allowed for food production in advance of when the food was needed, or how Food Surplus lead to inequality and social classes.
RIS students participated in healthy coping strategies to manage stress and anxiety during the lunch periods. Mrs. Trottere, our Student Assistance Coordinator, presented a display table of stress balls, fidget toys, kinetic sand, bubbles, and the most popular, a paper shredder to "Shred Our Stress".
