
For Women's History Month, 4th graders heard different read alouds and viewed brainpop videos on female trailblazers. They selected their favorite female trailblazer to feature on a “TIME magazine cover” and hung the various illustrations around their classroom.

McKinley first and third grade siblings shared the story "Little Leena Learns About Ramadan" to teach students about the history and traditions of Ramadan.



McKinley School is celebrating Read Across America Week with Spirit Days. For Wacky Hair Day, students shared creative and fun hairstyles to show that reading makes us feel good about ourselves. Happy Reading, everyone!











Dating back to 1885, George Washington’s birthday was the first federal holiday honoring an individual’s birth date. In 1971, it moved to the third Monday in February, falling between Washington and Abraham Lincoln’s birthdays, inspiring the name Presidents Day. #PresidentsDay

McKinley School collected 62 bags of canned goods for the "Souper Bowl." We are so grateful for the generosity of our community and we know the donations will be much appreciated.


First graders learned about different types of bears and then celebrated with"Hibernation Day."






McKinley School students wrapped up the Great Kindness Challenge with a Hot Cocoa Sale. All the money that they raised was donated to an organization called Love for LA. This organization helps students who were impacted by the LA wildfires.

McKinley STEAM Night was a huge success. Thank you to the PTO for organizing this event and to the parents and teachers for facilitating stations. We had a blast!

McKinley School kicked off the Great Kindness Challenge by "tipping their hats to kindness." Students and staff donned their favorite hats to celebrate kindness.









As part of the 4th Grade Electricity Unit, students build simple circuits using a wire, a battery, and a small bulb.





Students love to play outside for recess even when it's really cold. The fresh air and physical activity are so important for our students.









Second graders learn about pedestrian safety.




McKinley students and staff started 2025 with a school-wide morning meeting. 5th grade teacher, Ann McDonough, facilitated a community greeting and reviewed McKinley expectations. Students also participated in a sharing activity.




McKinley STEAM Studios is off to a wonderful start. Students enjoyed classes that focused on engineering, chess, music and sound, and jewelry making. Thank you to the McKinley School PTO for your support.
