Monday, June 1, 2026...The spirit of teamwork, sportsmanship, and school pride was on full display as our Pre-K students participated in this year's Tournament of Champions at Gary Kehler Stadium. This exciting event, modeled after a traditional Field Day, provided students with a memorable opportunity to celebrate movement, cooperation, and fun alongside their classmates.
The day began with a festive Opening Ceremony as teachers and students proudly processed into the stadium to the sounds of the Olympic Theme Song. Classes lined the track facing the bleachers while an American flag bearer led the procession. Students then joined together for the Pledge of Allegiance and a spirited rendition of “You’re a Grand Old Flag” before receiving a warm welcome and overview of the day’s activities.
Students were divided into teams and rotated through a variety of engaging activity stations designed to encourage participation, teamwork, and physical activity. Our EIS students played an important leadership role, providing instructions and demonstrations at each station. Every six minutes, groups rotated to a new challenge as music and whistle signals guided the transitions.
The Tournament of Champions was made possible through the collaborative efforts of staff, EIS student volunteers, and support personnel who worked together to create a positive and inclusive experience for all participants.
The celebration concluded with students returning to the track for special acknowledgements and a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who helped make the event a success. To top off a wonderful day, students enjoyed refreshing ice pops generously sponsored by our PTO.
