Thursday, February 5, 2026…Lincoln School recently welcomed motivational speaker and entertainer Jim “Basketball” Jones for an energetic schoolwide assembly that built on the momentum of our successful Kindness Challenge. The visit served as a powerful reminder that kindness, safety, and responsibility are not just ideas we talk about—but values we live every day.
Using impressive basketball tricks, humor, and high-energy audience participation, Mr. Jones immediately captured students’ attention. Throughout the assembly, he blended ball-handling skills with meaningful messages, helping students make real-life connections through creative scenarios and student role-play. Volunteers from the audience joined him on stage to act out everyday school situations, exploring how kind choices, safe behaviors, and responsible actions can make a positive difference for everyone.
Students learned that, much like basketball, success in school and in life requires practice, teamwork, and perseverance. Mr. Jones emphasized that mistakes are opportunities to learn and grow, reinforcing the importance of making good choices even when challenges arise.
The assembly was a fun and engaging way to reinforce Lincoln School’s core values following the Kindness Challenge. Students left inspired, smiling, and motivated to continue filling buckets and supporting one another throughout the school day. It was a memorable experience that truly brought our schoolwide expectations to life.
