Health Office Guidelines
The Westfield Public Schools Health Services Program provides health and nursing services for all the students K-12. The goal of the Health Office in the 9 schools is to support the educational process by promoting optimum wellness and working closely with the parents/guardians to:
Assess and evaluate the health needs of students
Accommodate students with specific health concerns
Serve as a health resource for the school community
The Comprehensive School Health Services provided to the students include but are not limited to:
Blood Pressure, Height, & Weight Screenings
Vision Screening
Audiometric Screening
Health Appraisals and Referrals
Scoliosis Screenings
Maintenance of health records
Compliance with State Immunization Requirements
Administration of medications prescribed by a physician
Assessment and provision of initial care for illness/injury
Management of the School's Emergency Team
Liason between school, parents, physician and community agencies
