Health Office Guidelines

The Westfield Public Schools Health Services Program provides health and nursing services for all the students K-12. The goal of the Health Office in the 9 schools is to support the educational process by promoting optimum wellness and working closely with the parents/guardians to:

  • Assess and evaluate the health needs of students

  • Accommodate students with specific health concerns

  • Serve as a health resource for the school community

The Comprehensive School Health Services provided to the students include but are not limited to:

  • Blood Pressure, Height, & Weight Screenings

  • Vision Screening

  • Audiometric Screening

  • Health Appraisals and Referrals

  • Scoliosis Screenings

  • Maintenance of health records

  • Compliance with State Immunization Requirements

  • Administration of medications prescribed by a physician

  • Assessment and provision of initial care for illness/injury

  • Management of the School's Emergency Team

  • Liason between school, parents, physician and community agencies
