Welcome to the Jefferson Elementary School website! Communication with parents and the community is very important to all of us at Jefferson School. We hope you find our website to be informative and helpful in learning more about our school.
Jefferson School accommodates five grade levels from 1st through 5th grade with approximately 475 students. Our school offers a well-balanced program for our students’ education. The dedicated teachers as well as staff members create and implement developmentally appropriate lessons for the students. Hands-on learning and engaging activities are emphasized in the classrooms. Students actively learn in various core subject areas including language literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies. Technology is integrated throughout daily lessons. All students participate in music, art, library, and physical education classes to enhance their overall development. Upper grade students also have Spanish, band/orchestra and chorus.
In addition to the strong educational program offered by the Jefferson teachers and staff, the Jefferson Parent Teacher Organization (“PTO”) provides enriching activities and assemblies for students throughout the school year. The PTO, under the current leadership of Co-Presidents, Mrs. Janice Agresti and Mrs. Stacie Hopkins, is highly active and supportive of our school’s efforts. They continue to work diligently with the Executive Board to raise funds for various school activities, events, programs and enhancements. The PTO website provides additional information regarding upcoming events and programs. It is highly suggested that you sign up for PTO emails and the Jefferson Journal via the PTO website so you are kept current on all PTO and school related activities.
