PLEASE HELP SUPPORT THE KATHERINE E. CUTHBERTSON MEMORIAL FUND
The Katherine E. Cuthbertson Achievement Award was established several years ago in memory of ten-year-old Katie Cuthbertson, a Westfield resident and one of the first students to pioneer inclusive education in the state of New Jersey. Although she faced many challenges – blindness and neurological problems, Katie attended McKinley Elementary School before she died in 1991.
Annually the Special Education Committee honors Katie’s “pioneering spirit” by giving a number of monetary achievement scholarships to eligible Westfield High School Seniors. Additionally, the memorial funds allow to provide barrier-free initiatives in the schools and/or free educational programs for the parent/teacher community.
