Tamaques' 3rd Annual STEM Day
Tamaques' 3rd Annual STEM Day is scheduled for Friday, January 24, 2014. We are looking for parents who are willing to present a topic in the areas of science, technology, engineering or math. Presenters usually volunteer for the whole day, sharing their knowledge with 3-4 groups of first-third graders in the morning and fourth and fifth graders in the afternoon.
Each session is 20 minutes. If you need ideas for topics, we have some ideas of cool projects that can be completed in a short amount of time. Please contact Barbara Maguire if you are interested in presenting or have questions about STEM Day.
Lunchtime Enrichment Coming Soon!
An option to classroom indoor recess is coming to Tamaques School this winter. Lunchtime Enrichment will offer classes such as chess, arts & crafts, community service projects, yoga, drama and more. Building on the concept of the current Library Lunch during recess, Lunchtime Enrichment will be staffed by volunteers to ensure a safe fun place for our children. Volunteers are needed to help get this program off the ground. Do you have a talent or interest to share? Do you like to coordinate or plan activities? Are you free for an hour each week to supervise an activity? Will your children like what Lunchtime Enrichment will offer? If so, please consider volunteering for Lunchtime Enrichment. Interested volunteers please contact Marcy Lechner.
THE TAMAQUES STORE IS HERE!
Every year, the new 5th grade class gets their chance to run the school store. The store sells cute, inexpensive items such as erasers, pencil sharpeners and other novelties. The money raised by the 5th grade volunteers goes towards their 5th grade end-of-year party. We will offer some special items throughout the year.
Store Hours: Before School (8:20 to 8:35am) & Lunchtime (12:20 to 12:35pm). To minimize lines, please bring exact change.
