Princeton University Participates in Lab
Using equipment from Princeton University, the 8th grade GT Biology class isolated genomic DNA from grocery store foods and analyzed these foods using PCR (polymerase chain reaction) for genetic modification.Pictured here are Westfield students being observed by a Princeton University scientist. Both RIS & EIS GT students participated in the lab organized by EIS teacher Kristi Houghtaling. The students will be creating a presentation for all 8th graders. (read more)
Mix It Up Day Promotes New Friendships
Roosevelt Intermediate School's Counselors held their annual Mix It Up Day during lunch periods in the cafeteria. Students were placed at tables with new acquaintances and engaged in group activities to learn more about one another and to encourage respect and tolerance.
