Dear Friend of the Westfield Public Schools,

EVERY PENNY COUNTS - especially in this economy.  That is why I am pleased to announce a potential source of revenue for the Westfield Public Schools that would benefit every one of our 10 schools.  GoodSearch.com, a new search engine powered by Yahoo!, will donate to our school district 50% of its revenue, or approximately a penny for each search you perform on the Internet.  You use it exactly as you would any other search engine and the pennies add up quickly - just 500 people searching four times a day can earn around $7,300 in a year.  It doesn't cost the users or the school district anything to use.

Using GoodSearch is simple.  Because the site is powered by Yahoo, users are assured of high quality results - but each time you search, money is generated by the site's advertisers with a percentage earmarked for our schools.  We will dedicate the funds in a most appropriate way -- for technology upgrades for our schools.

Just in time for holiday shopping, GoodShop.com is located on the GoodSearch site.  By purchasing through GoodShop, an average of 3% and up to 37% of the purchase price will be donated to the schools.  Hundreds of well known retailers are registered with GoodShop.  This opportunity is not limited to the Westfield community.  Please let your friends and relatives know about it too.  Remember that each time you approach your computer to do a search or to shop, you can help raise funds to improve technology in our schools.

Simply go to http://www.goodsearch.com?charityid=910237 . (You may want to "bookmark" this URL).  If you have any questions about this search engine, please contact Brian Auker, our Chief Technology Officer, at bauker@westfieldnjk12.org .

Searching the internet and shopping online is an activity that connects us to worldwide sources.  How wonderful that this activity can now benefit your local schools.

Sincerely,

Margaret Dolan, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
